Ronald D. Siegel, PsyD, is an assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, where he has been teaching for over 35 years. He has long studied mindfulness meditation and serves on the board of directors of the Institute for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy. He teaches the clinical applications of mindfulness in psychotherapy and other fields around the world and maintains a private practice at a clinic in Lincoln, Massachusetts.
Ron Siegel is co-editor of the acclaimed book Mindfulness and Psychotherapy (2nd edition) and author of a comprehensive guide for the general public, The Mindfulness Solution: Everyday Practices for Everyday Problems. He is also co-author of Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy, of Sitting Together: Essential Skills for Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy, and of the self-help guide Back Sense, which integrates Western and Eastern approaches to the treatment of chronic back pain. He is a contributor to the program The Science of Mindfulness: A Research-Based Path to Well-Being. Ron also contributes regularly to other professional publications and serves as co-director of the Harvard Medical School’s annual conference on meditation and psychotherapy.
