Clinical psychotherapist and trainer for the IFS Institute, creator of IFIO, an experiential model of couples therapy.

Toni Herbine-Blank is a clinical psychotherapist and lead trainer for the IFS Institute. She currently lives in Durango, Colorado, where she divides her time between training, therapy, and her horses. She was trained in family therapy at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in psychiatric nursing. In 2004, she began training students in IFS and played a key role in designing IFS training programs. She has been in private practice since 1996, specializing in the treatment of couples and individuals.

In 2009, she founded IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out), an experiential model of couples therapy primarily inspired by the IFS model developed by Richard Schwartz. The IFIO model combines deep intrapsychic work with interpersonal exploration. It incorporates aspects of psychodynamic theory, systems thinking, neuroscience, and mindfulness practices, and uses the intimate relationship itself as a vehicle for growth and healing for both the individual and the couple.

Toni is the co-author of Internal Family Systems Couple Therapy Skills Manual, and of Intimacy from the Inside Out, Courage and Compassion in Couple Therapy.
