Ana M. Gómez is a leading authority on complex trauma, dissociation, and intergenerational trauma, with 30 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She is the founder and director of the AGATE Institute in Phoenix, AZ, a psychotherapist, author, and international speaker. Ana has trained thousands of clinicians worldwide—teaching in person in more than 22 countries and 60 cities across four continents, and reaching professionals online in over 70 countries. A Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), she is the author of EMDR Therapy and Adjunct Approaches with Children: Complex Trauma, Attachment, and Dissociation and EMDR-Sandtray-Based Therapy: Healing Complex Trauma and Dissociation Across the Lifespan, co-editor of The Handbook of Complex Trauma and Dissociation in Children, and author of several therapeutic children’s books and multiple book chapters. Her work has been honored with the Francine Shapiro Award (2023), the Hope Award (2012), and the Distinguished Service Award (2011).
