Expert psychologist active in humanitarian aid programs

Robert Muzuri Rugoheza, from the Bafulero community in the Uvira territory of South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, is a clinical psychologist trained at the University of Goma. He has gained significant experience in the field of humanitarian aid, working with various international organizations in the DRC, especially in contexts of humanitarian crises. 

As a committed expert, he has actively participated in assistance programs for vulnerable populations, including people displaced by internal conflicts and natural disasters, former combatants, and survivors of gender-based violence, as well as children and adolescents. Robert Muzuri has extensive experience in both individual and collective therapeutic support and has been involved in the supervision and management of teams for the implementation of mental health and psychosocial support (SMSPS) programs. 

He utilizes programs like the Mental Health Gap Action Programme (MHGAP) and methods such as the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Integrative Group Treatment Protocol (EMDR IGTP) as well as Narrative Exposure Therapy. In addition to his professional skills, Robert practices meditation and heart coherence, and has participated in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program.
