Asha
Clinton
Creator of AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy), a transpersonal therapeutic method used in Energy Psychology.
Asha Clinton, MSW, PhD, is an anthropologist by training and has been a professor at Princeton for nearly 40 years. When she discovered psychotherapy, she was drawn to the opportunity it offered to help people rather than merely study them. She then trained at the Carl Gustav Jung Institute and the Institute for Expressive Analysis in New York, followed by studies in expressive arts therapy, object relations, and self-psychology, while also exploring Sufi and Buddhist practices.
Asha integrates all these approaches and tools into AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy), a transpersonal therapeutic method she developed 20 years ago and which is now part of the field of Energy Psychology. She has facilitated numerous seminars on AIT focused on the treatment of attachment disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, dissociative disorders, historical trauma, and psychogenic illnesses, in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Guatemala, and El Salvador. She participates in trauma healing projects with the Maya and Xinca peoples of Guatemala and the Navajo, and trains numerous therapists, educators, and supervisors in AIT.
In 2018, she published a new edition of her book, AIT Core Belief Book: All the Cognitions You’ll Ever Need to Promote Transformation and Healing.
