Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology; introduced research and university-level teaching in EMDR therapy to France.

 

Cyril Tarquinio is a professor at the University of Lorraine, director of the Master’s program in Clinical Psychology, Psychopathology, and Health Psychology at the Metz campus, and has been a psychologist and psychotherapist for 22 years.

He is the founder and editor-in-chief of The European Journal of Trauma and Dissociation (Elsevier). He introduced research and university-level teaching in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to France. He is currently interested in the effects of childhood trauma and its consequences on physical health (pain, cancer, cardiovascular disease, Lyme disease, etc.) in adulthood. His research topics also include the evaluation of psychotherapies in the care of victims and chronically ill patients. 

Cyril is the founder and director of the Pierre Janet Center. In September 2020, he was awarded the title of Chevalier des Palmes Académiques at the University of Lorraine.
