Co-creator of the Mindful Self-Compassion program which has been taught to more than 200,000 people worldwide.
Christopher (Chris) Germer, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and part-time lecturer in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Together with Kristin Neff (2010), he co-developed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program, which has since been taught to more than 200,000 people worldwide. They have co-authored two books on MSC: The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program.
Chris spends most of his time lecturing and leading workshops around the world on mindfulness and self-compassion. He is the author of The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion and has co-edited two influential books on therapy: Mindfulness and Psychotherapy and Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy. He is also a founding faculty member of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy in Cambridge, MA, as well as the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion at Harvard Medical School. He practices in a small online psychotherapy practice.
