Fabrice
Midal

Philosopher, author, and teacher, creator of the podcast Dialogues and founder of the Reso meditation school.

Fabrice Midal, a doctor of philosophy, author, scholar of Buddhism, and teacher of mindfulness meditation, founded the École occidentale de méditation (the Western School of Meditation) in 2006. He is the author of numerous books, including works on Buddhism as well as secular meditation, including Comment rester serein quand tout s’effondre (“How to stay calm when everything falls apart”).

Fabrice is a specialist in everyday forms of violence (burnout, manipulation, digital addiction). It was from this perspective that he founded the École occidentale de méditation,  not to teach a form of meditation intended to calm us down, clear our minds, or shut us off from reality, but to enable us to confront these forms of violence in a very concrete way. The philosophy he has practiced is not the pursuit of an ethereal wisdom but a critical examination of the state of our world and our societies. It follows the example of Socrates, who asks all those with social, political, and economic responsibilities what forms of violence and ignorance they are fostering.
