Laurence
Carluer

Neurologist and psychotherapist interested in how neuroscience can shed light on our understanding of psychological trauma.

A neurologist by training, Laurence Carluer practiced for some 20 years at the Caen University Hospital. About ten years ago, she trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems), a psychotherapy model created by Richard Schwartz. Currently working as both a neurologist and a psychotherapist, she is also a member of Professor Eustache’s Inserm U1077 team, which studies human memory in healthy individuals and in various conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is particularly interested in how neuroscience can shed light on our understanding of psychotrauma, traumatic memory, and psychotherapy more generally.
