Psychiatrist and psychotherapist, founder and president of CEFoRT – Centre d’Étude et de Formation à la Résolution du Trauma (Center for Research and Training on Trauma Resolution).
Michel Schittecatte is the principal founder and president of CEFoRT, established in 2013 and based in Cruis, France. As a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist, as well as a practitioner, trainer, and supervisor in Somatic Experiencing (SE), he has translated into French the works of Peter Levine (creator of Somatic Experiencing) on this approach. His efforts to promote SE since 2004 are driven by a desire to make it accessible to as many people as possible. With clinical experience in hospital, prison, and private settings, he is frequently sought after for his particular expertise in victimology and traumatology.
