Pascale Brillon, PhD, director of the Alpha Institute in Montreal, is a psychologist specialized in the treatment of post-traumatic stress, and a professor in the Department of Psychology, University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). She is also the director of the Trauma and Resilience research laboratory and former editor-in-chief of the journal Science et Comportement.
Pascale is the author of four books: Comment aider les victimes souffrant de stress post-traumatique (a guide for therapists, to help victims suffering from post-traumatic stress), Se relever d’un traumatisme (a guide for trauma survivors), Quand la mort est traumatique (a guide for the bereaved dealing with traumatic death) and a latest guide for mental health professionals: Entretenir ma vitalité d’aidant (maintaining caregiver vitality). She has been invited to share her expertise on numerous public affairs commissions and was co-editor of the special issue on post-traumatic stress of the Revue Québécoise de Psychologie. She trains psychologists, psychiatrists, and caregivers throughout the French-speaking world, and has received numerous professional awards for her achievements and her contribution to psychology.
