Kristin Neff, PhD, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research. She conducted the first empirical studies on this topic more than 20 years ago and is recognized as one of the most influential researchers in psychology worldwide. She is the author of the best-selling books Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself and Fierce Self-Compassion: How to Harness Kindness to Speak Up, Claim Your Power, and Thrive.

Together with her colleague Chris Germer, Kristin developed the “Mindful Self-Compassion”  (MSC) course, grounded in empirical research, and founded The Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. They co-authored the bestseller The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook
