You’ve completed Level 1. You’ve grasped the fundamentals of the IAFT model. Now, how do you apply them when a session becomes complex?
Level 1 provided you with essential tools: understanding parent-child desynchronization, supporting regulation, using attachment-based activities, and guiding parents with greater confidence and compassion.
But once in a session, certain situations remain difficult to navigate in real time:
When a child becomes dysregulated, withdraws, or refuses to cooperate, how do you maintain the connection without forcing it?
When a parent becomes critical, defensive, or overwhelmed, how can you help them reconnect with their child without making them feel judged?
When parent-child communication breaks down, how can we facilitate a Deliberate Dialogue that restores the connection?
How do you know when it’s time to work with parents separately?
And above all: how do we move from understanding the model to a more fluid, precise, and embodied practice?
Level 2 was designed for this very stage: transforming the knowledge gained in Level 1 into concrete clinical skills through practice, live demonstrations, case consultations, and personalized feedback from Dafna Lender.
Level 2: When Theory Becomes Embodied Skill
Learning a clinical model is one thing. Integrating it into your body, your presence, and your real-time decisions during a session is another.
Level 1 of the IAFT training provided you with the conceptual foundations and initial tools of the model: polyvagal mapping, Theraplay activities, the PACE model, and working with defensive parents. You’ve begun to understand how emotional desynchronization in the parent-child relationship develops, and how the IAFT approach creates the conditions for healing.
Level 2 picks up where Level 1 left off. It’s designed for practitioners who have begun using the model in sessions and are now encountering the most complex clinical situations: maintaining the child’s regulation when emotions run high, guiding parents without triggering their resistance, and knowing when and how to work with each family member separately.
At this stage, what you need is no longer the theory; it’s practice, supervision, and direct feedback from an expert.
Why a live, group format?
Subtle clinical skills aren’t acquired alone in front of a screen. They develop through respectful engagement with real-life situations, through observing live demonstrations, and through practice with peers facing the same challenges.
Level 2 is deliberately limited to a small group of participants. This format is not an organizational compromise; it’s the heart of the training. It allows each participant to present a case or clinical situation, receive direct consultation from Dafna, practice skills through role-playing and small-group work, and benefit from the collective intelligence of a group of peers engaged in the same work.
Meeting other professionals who share your perspective and challenges is itself a clinical resource. This course is the most direct path from knowledge of the IAFT model to true clinical mastery.
What this course offers you
3 half-days of intensive live training on November 16, 17 and 18, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM (Paris time), with a 20-minute break at 5:15 PM, totaling 12 hours of small-group training on Zoom.
A case consultation with Dafna Lender: participants will have the opportunity to present a case or clinical situation and receive direct feedback from Dafna.
Live demonstrations and small-group exercises to practice the key skills of the IAFT model in situations that closely resemble real-world clinical settings.
Educational resources: practical worksheets, exercises, and articles related to the topics covered during the training.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for individuals who have completed Level 1 (through Quantum Way or another organization offering IAFT Level 1 training):
Psychologists, psychotherapists, and mental health practitioners wishing to deepen their skills in using the IAFT model,
Physicians, pediatricians, child psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals working with children and families,
Social service professionals, educators, and support staff who have completed Level 1.
Important: Level 2 is open to anyone who has completed Level 1, whether they have the certificate or not. However, the Level 1 certificate is required to obtain the Level 2 certificate.
This course is for you if you already use the IAFT model in your sessions and wish to take your clinical proficiency and precision to the next level.
What will I learn in this course?
Upon completion of this training, you’ll be able to:
Set up an IAFT session: what to do and what to avoid
Implement attachment-based activities to help the child feel connected to their parent and cared for by them
Help the child understand the underlying desires, motivations, beliefs, and emotions behind their challenging behaviors
- Facilitate a Deliberate Dialogue between parent and child, focused on healthy communication and the parent-child bond
Guide parents to avoid criticism and lecturing during the session
Help the child remain calm and cooperative during the session
Recognize when it becomes necessary to work with parents in individual sessions
Help parents, in individual sessions, develop their self-regulation and self-compassion
Support parents in setting realistic boundaries with their children
You will walk away with deep clinical mastery of the IAFT model and the confidence to navigate even the most complex family situations.
Live sessions available for replay

All sessions are recorded: replays are made available within two weeks of each live session for participants who were unable to attend the entire session.
You’ll have access to all course materials (recordings, worksheets, exercises, and articles) until June 30, 2027.
The training is facilitated by Dafna Lender in English. Simultaneous interpretation into French is provided. Recordings are available in both languages.
Each hour of training with Dafna Lender is an hour of direct clinical supervision,

Who is Dafna Lender?
Dafna Lender is a family therapist specializing in attachment, an international trainer, and a clinical supervisor. For nearly thirty years, she has been supporting professionals working with children and families in a variety of settings, such as after-school support programs, therapeutic group homes, home-based interventions, and private practice.
She is an EMDR practitioner, a certified trainer and supervisor in Theraplay® and dyadic developmental psychotherapy, and the author of Integrative Attachment Family Therapy: A Clinical Guide to Heal and Strengthen the Parent-Child Relationship Through Play, Co-regulation and Meaning-making. She speaks four languages (English, Hebrew, French, and Spanish) and trains therapists around the world.

Yes. A certificate of participation is issued by Quantum Way upon completion of the course. You’ll be informed of the requirements for obtaining it during the first session.
No. Participation in Level 2 is contingent upon participation in Level 1. Level 2 builds on the knowledge gained in Level 1 and focuses directly on its advanced clinical application. It would not be possible to fully benefit from it without this foundation. If you are planning to participate in Level 1, which will take place on November 3 and 4, you can also register for Level 2 today.
